Science for Development (Sci4D) is an international non-profit organization. We offer strategic services that help organizations synthesize and promote their knowledge — for policy action, the scaling-up of results and to attract investment.


We work with international programs; national agencies; science and technology centers; universities; UN and EU programs; and technical assistance projects. Sci4D helps you deliver your expertise to decision makers, investors, development agencies, policy experts and communities.

Founders

Michael Devlin

Michael Devlin has held senior management positions in international development and research centers and programs in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, designing strategies for research synthesis and promotion, knowledge sharing, advocacy, and ‘translating’ science for policy action. He has a degree in journalism and extensive expertise in applying knowledge sharing and learning approaches.

 

Jack Durrell

Jack Durrell has provided communication and research synthesis support to international development organizations for over fifteen years. He has master’s degrees in journalism and development, and a PhD in geography from Kings College London.

Johannes Keizer

Johannes is a pioneer of agricultural information management. During his time with FAO, he led efforts to bring agricultural research information into the world of semantic web systems. This work has made information from research projects more accessible to agricultural scientists and practitioners worldwide. He initiated projects like the the "Agricultural Ontology Service" , which was has been a model for organizing research information, inspiring many other information management initiatives in science. He holds a PhD in Biology

Senior Advisor

Brian Keegan

Brian is a senior advisor and former investment banker who has served in executive positions in several global finance groups, including Bank of America, Merrill Lynch and J.P. Morgan. In his career he has provided advice and guidance in some 30 countries on financial policy, capital structure and enterprise risk management, capital markets and corporate finance – to heads of state, finance ministers, governors, mayors, chief executives and chief financial officers of various governments, financial institutions, and industries.
